TEMPERING
MODERN OVENS FOR TEMPERING GLASS
Asola Vetro’s glass tempering plant is made up of modern tempering ovens, equipped with a high-efficiency convective system, based on the blowing of preheated air.
The glass plates are introduced in the oven and, on reaching a certain temperature close to the softening point, they are extracted and rapidly cooled by jets of air. This thermal process induces particular stresses in the glass that give it greater resistance, especially to bending. For this reason, tempered glass is considered not only more robust but also safer, since any breakage only leads to the formation of tiny rounded, blunt pieces that present little danger.
